About JD Filkins
I am a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant who has worked in maintenance of various sorts his entire life. As a youth I began by understanding and repairing TVs and radios then moved on to motorcycles, cars, aircraft, and finally computers and networking.
For the last 24 years I've been involved in computers. It started with a box of new parts and a soon assembled but non-working computer. Now imagine my wife asking the obvious: “You spent $1500 on a computer and it DOESN'T WORK?!?”
That my friend, is incentive!
It didn't take long and that computer worked fine and began a path that had me took me to office guru, helping friends and family, and finally seven years working for The Battelle Memorial Institue in Columbus Ohio as a Senior Communications Equipment Analyst supporting desktop and networking systems.
Along the way a few people would call me when their computer was acting up, and here and there a few more would call. Today, calls include both home and business users, from sole proprietors to 20 or more employees. They trust me to understand their needs and keep their equipment and networks up and running smoothly without excess expense and minimal downtime.
